Troop 178 Frisco

We not only have a Troop Meeting every week, we also have Troop Campouts usually on the 3rd week of _each_month! We believe that the best learning occurs when doing, and Troop 178 is a Scout-led Troop. Troop 178's adult leaders have extensive Scouting experience and training.

Why Scouting? Scouts take part in a great self-led program of activities from kayaking to coding. They develop character skills like resilience, initiative and tenacity: employability skills such as leadership, teamwork and problem solving; and practical skills like cooking and first aid.

American Legion Peter J Courcy Post 178

The American Legion, Peter J Courcy Post 178, Frisco, Texas is named for Frisco resident Peter J. Courcy, who was KIA in Afghanistan in 2009.  On May 21, 2021,  the Post was proclaimed a Purple Heart Post due to the fact that 75 of its 600 members have been awarded the medal.  Today, the Frisco American Legion continues to serve our country by serving our community in a multitude of ways. Some of their programs include supporting our veterans through financial assistance, visiting veterans in retirement and rehabilitation facilities, our Color & Honor Guard presenting the colors for events large and small, and fighting for veterans rights.  The Post is also very involved in supporting youth programs in Frisco.
