Troop 430 Boys - Omaha

Chartered Organization - Celebration Covenant Church

Troop Fast Facts

1.   We meet Monday nights at Faith Westwood United Methodist Church.  Meetings start at 7pm.

2.   We are a Scout LED troop that is adult GUIDED.

3.   The troop is organized by the patrol method.

4.   Parent involvement is HIGHLY encouraged. Scouts would not have a troop without parent volunteers.

5.   Scouts can cross over from Cub Scouts as early as February of 5th grade however we recommend no later than April so they can start preparing for summer camp.

6.   Scout BSA is different from Cubs Scouts for advancement and merit badges.  It come from participation and involvement rather than changing grades in school. The journey to Eagle Scout ends at age 18.  Some Scouts make it a priority and can earn Eagle as early as age 15.  It really depends on the Scout and their family.

7.   The troop camps every month except December.  Campouts are planned by the Scouts.

8.   Monthly camping is HIGHLY encouraged for Scouts to complete merit badge requirements and advancement.

9.   Our troop attends a week long summer camp each June.

10.  We are a troop that is excited about high adventure national camps such as Philmont, Sea Base, Boundary Waters, and National Jamboree and have a desire to attend them annually.

11.  We typically offer 1-3 merit badges per quarter for the Scouts to work on during troop meetings. These are led by parents, adult leaders, and older Scouts who possess skills related to the merit badge.

12.  The troop maintains this online website for an events, meeting calendars, emails, photos, and much more.

13.  We utilize Scoutbook for merit badge and rank advancement tracking.

14.  Lots of fundraising opportunities such as selling popcorn and camp cards, dining nights out, and car washes are presented throughout the year to help fund scouting adventures.

If you're ready to begin your scouting adventure, come visit a troop meeting, come camping with us (see the calendar of upcoming activities on the right of this page), or reach out to us!  We would love to chat with you!

Please check your Scout/Scouter account balance and, if negative, make a deposit to bring the account positive via our Troop Treasurer (Angela Young) or Troop website (PayPal).

* Annual Health and Medical Records *

Per Scouting America standards, a medical form needs to be completed annually and kept on file for all Scouts and Scouters participating in a scouting program.  There are three (3) parts; Part A, B, and C.  Parts A and B need to be completed by a parent or guardian.  Part C is required for any activities lasting 72 hours or more and needs to be completed and signed by a physician.  The form can be located on the council’s website.  Leadership has the right to deny the Scout’s or Scouter’s ability to participate if a current medical form is not available.
