Welcome to Piedmont Troop 4!

Troop 4 is a vibrant Scout-led troop. We are a fun-loving and informal troop, yet we can get serious and focused when required. We have supported more than 160 Scouts attain the rank of Eagle since our inception in 1921. One of our most prominent Eagle Scouts is Stephen D. Bechtel Jr.,  the founder of the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve. The Summit Bechtel Reserve, in West Virginia, is the permanent home of the National Scouting America Jamboree and a High Adventure Camp.

Our monthly outings provide skill-building, service and leadership opportunities. Some of our most fun trips are camping at Yosemite, river rafting, skiing at Sugar Bowl and surfing in Santa Cruz. A year would not be complete without an outing to Fenton's for ice cream. We have a strong connection to Fenton's since it featured prominently in the movie "Up" -- in fact, Russell is a Piedmont Troop 4 Eagle Scout!

Who can join Troop 4? Any youth who:

• Is at least 10 years old, currently in the fifth grade and registers on or after March 1 or
• At least 10 years old and has earned the Arrow of Light award or
• At least 11 years old (but not yet 18)

How do I join Troop 4?

The best way to find out if Troop 4 is right for you is by attending one of our weekly meetings or our Open House in the Spring. We meet on Monday nights except on Piedmont School breaks.
