I do not have any of my own children in the Troop; my youngest is 22. Volunteering in a trained leadership role with all 3 of them taught me that Scouting is a mindset, a lifestyle, and a virtuous endeavor worth sharing and promoting at every opportunity for the betterment of self, community, and society. It supports my love of nature, conservation, and helping other people at all times. It's so amazing to watch the transformation and progression of our youth & adults as they progress in training, shared experiences, and ranks toward measureable goals and servant leadership. I am saddened by the lack of enough female parent involvement and what they are missing out on and what they can add to their own Scouts' experience during these crucial years of character development.
