The 1st Moncton BPSA is a chartered traditional scouting group in the metro-Moncton area of New Brunswick, Canada. It is open to boys, girls, men, and women who are interested in traditional outdoor programs that are open to everyone and are challenging. The 1st Moncton is a proud member of the Baden-Powell Service Association (BPSA) in Canada and New Brunswick.

Our group likes to spend time outside and do things like camping, exploring the wilderness, swimming, canoeing, pioneering and bushcraft, backpacking, fishing, hiking, and cooking in different ways outside.

The 1st Moncton has regular activities all year long, and you are welcome to join us either to watch or to take part in our outdoor Scouting adventures.

WHERE YOU CAN FIND US?

You can find us at our home base, the Pineglen Community Center, even though we are usually out and about in the community and in the wild. Always get in touch with us before you come to see us so that we can tell you where we are meeting that week. info@bpsascoutingmoncton.com.

The BP Service Association (BPSA) in Canada is not connected to Scouts Canada or Association des Scouts du Canada. BPSA proudly belongs to the World Federation of Independent Scouting.

STEPS TO JOIN

Step 1:  Contact Us

Contact the Group Scoutmaster (info@outscouting.ca), then attend Troop meetings and/or Campouts.  Its important to find out where we are running our programs at that particular time.

Step 2:  Complete Application

Submit an application for Youth/Adult Membership.  If you'd prefer to complete a paper application, let us know and we will send that to you (email it to info@outscouting.ca). We are a family-run troop and like all families to be active and participate where they are able.

Step 3:  Our Annual Membership

$55 covers the member insurance fees for the entire year. All programs are run on a cost-recovery basis, so we run on extremely family-economic activities.

Step 4:  Submit Physical Fitness Forms

All Explorers and adult members will need to fill out a physical fitness form.

Step 5:  Purchase Scouting Uniform

Need: Scout shirt (tan), Scouting Necker/woggle, and the latest Explorer Troop manual.
Headgear: either a Stetson or beret.
Note: Class B t-shirts will be available to members and can be worn where the uniform is not necessary for the program.

Step 6:  Volunteer as a parent.

It is important to understand how events are planned and executed and also show your scout an example of service to others. We have many defined roles and small committees you can help with right away. Leaders also get free in-person experience and training.
