Troop 1776, Mt Sinai

Troop 1776 is Chartered by Port Jefferson EMS and was started in 2013. It began with 7 Scouts and leaders, with the goal to create a Troop where leaders guide Scouts as the Scouts lead their Troop.  We have grown to over 40 Scouts!

The Troop meets weekly and generally attends an outing or camping trip once a month throughout the Scouting year.  We also attend a week of Summer Camp at a BSA Summer Camp Program.

The Troop participates in various community service and volunteer activities throughout the year. These include assisting with Bingo at the Stony Brook Veteran’s Home; seasonal clean-up at Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck (a summer camp for children and young adults with special needs); flag and wreath placement and retrieval at Calverton National Cemetery; and assisting with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Parade of Flags at Heritage Park.  Parents and siblings are welcome and encouraged to participate with the Scouts.

We encourage our Scouts to have fun while working on their knowledge and skills and advancing within the Scouts BSA Program.

We encourage our parents' involvement in the Troop while helping the Scouts work towards these goals!
