Deacon's Eagle project is a go!

Dear Adult Leaders,

I am planning on having my Eagle Scout Project construction day on September 14th with September 15th as an overflow day if needed.

I received approval for my project from the Council last week and am picking up donated supplies this weekend.
My beneficiary wants this project completed by the end of September.

I plan on building a large stand-alone cabinet for a homeless shelter.

We can build it in my mom's garage.

I am hoping that you can assist me on the day of the project as well as let us borrow your tools.

We need to borrow the following:
table saw
clamps
sander/sandpaper
finishing nail gun
trailer

Chop saw
Straight edge
Builders triangle

Combined Troop Pilot Program - We're Approved!

Hi Everyone, BSA is rolling out a pilot program for combining male and female troops, and we have been approved to participate! I know we've been running our Troops as a single unit, so this won't change a lot of our processes, but hopefully this will help us continue Troop 47 by being able to build up that roster for the future.

I hope you're as excited about this as I am.  From a troop administration standpoint, this is going to streamline the process for the Committee Chair (me), Advancement Chair (Amanda), and Scoutmaster (Ben).  Everything will be under one troop in scoutbook and my.scouting.org.  For now, I set Troop 47 as the Primary Troop.

There will be more information coming out about YPT, and the  new Buddy System rules, and as soon as I have them I'll share them with you all.

But for now, share the news with ALL the families that you know who could benefit from a mixed-gender troop!
