Upcoming trip---Chester Fish Club

The troop has an upcoming trip to the Chester Fish Club property in Chester the weekend of November 21-23. This event includes Cub Scout Pack 2819 coming out Saturday to stay with us.

Citizenship in Society Merit Badge

Scoutmaster Alston will be teaching Citizenship in Society Merit Badge on Monday, December 1. This will be the regular Scout meeting for that day.

This is a great opportunity to earn this Merit Badge, which is an Eagle required one.

Committee Meeting, December 9

The troop will have its monthly committee meeting on Tuesday, December 9 at 7pm at Dante's, 10438 Iron Bridge Road, Chester, VA 23831. We welcome input from all parents of scouts. All parents and leaders are invited to attend.

Wreaths Across America, Saturday, December 13

We will be participating in Wreaths Across America at Poplar Grove National Cemetery on Saturday, December 13. We will be participating as the Honor Guard. Please meet at the Cabin at 10am, with departure no later than 1030. We need to be at the cemetery no later than 11am on that Saturday. Full Class A uniform is requested. Please let us know if you wish to participate.

Chester Christmas Parade, Sunday, December 14

The Troop will be participating in the Chester Christmas Parade on Sunday, December 14. Please meet at the Chester YMCA at 1pm. Please wear your Class A uniform!

Annual Christmas Party on December 22

The Troop will celebrate Christmas with its annual Christmas party on Monday, Dec. 22 at 7pm. We will have many awards, ranks, and event patches to distribute. Also, we will have a few special presentations, including some humorous ones. Announcements will be made about upcoming events. Please bring your favorite snack to share. Parents and family are encouraged to attend.

Summer Camp 2026

The Scouts have spoken, and we will be going back for summer camp at Camp Grimes in Nebo, NC this summer the week of July 5 thru July 11, 2026. More info to come!

Reminder that we will need everyone attending to have an updated BSA Medical completed before we go to camp; Parts A, B1, B2 & C are required. Parts A, B1, and B2 can be completed by a parent; Part C needs to be completed by a doctor. Also, a copy of an insurance card is needed. Please don't forget if you are ready to advance to sign up for a Scoutmaster Conference and Board of Review. The sheets are posted in the cabin on the bulletin board.

The Troop does have a Facebook page. Send us a request on Facebook at "Troop 819" to be added as pictures and other little tidbits get posted there. The page is closed to the following: troop members, family members, and Eagle Scouts from the troop.
