The Scout Oath "On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my Country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight."
Welcome to our website! Here you can find information about our troop and its activities. Boy Scout Troop 631 is part of the Mustang District and is proud to represent the Sam Houston Area Council as one of its many wonderful troops. We pride ourselves in the troop's ability to be boy-led, the way it should be! We also take pride in our fully-trained leaders and the support they provide for the scouts. We meet as a troop every Monday evening from 7pm-8pm in the Scout Hut at Fair Haven United Methodist Church, 1330 Gessner Rd, Houston, TX 77055 (unless otherwise stated on the calendar). We try to go on exciting outings and camp outs almost every month of the year. Troop 631 has been chartered to Fair Haven United Methodist Church since 1958. Voted 2012 Mustang District Chartered Partner of the Year, Fair Haven continues its support of Scouting beyond the local units. More recently, FHUMC was host for the 2013 Mustang District Merit Badge Fair. As stated before, Troop 631 is 'boy led' with strong adult leadership. All of our Scoutmasters are fully trained by the Boy Scouts of America as are our Committee Leaders. All parents are encouraged to join the Troop and participate in the leadership and guidance of our Unit. Youth Protection Training (YPT) is required of all adults wishing to attend Troop outings. Troop 631 was chartered in 1958 and has been going strong ever since. We are a small troop with big character, and we are always eager and glad to see new faces around! Hope to see you soon!
