Merit Badge Counselors

For parents that missed the discussion on Merit Badge Counselors, here’s a quick overview on what we are asking for your help with.

1. Our scouts need Adult Merit Badge Counselors to help sign off on “partial” merit badge requirements they didn’t fully complete at summer camp, help scouts with their eagle required merit badges, and create opportunities for the scout to incorporate merit badge topics into their troop meetings and campouts knowing they have a counselor that can help them on a topic.

2. Pick merit badges you have knowledge or skills in. Our biggest need is with the Eagle Required merit badges, but any you can have knowledge in is helpful: https://www.scouting.org/skills/merit-badges/all/

3. You do not have to “teach” the merit badge.  If a scout asks, you are allowed to decline.

If willing to help, contact Laura Showalter for next steps.
